Where Do I Fit?

In the puzzle box there are many small, oddly shaped pieces that reveal minor details of a picture. The colorful box displays what the end result should be, but as I reach deep within, I’m unable to determine which piece is next. Jumbled all together I have difficulty trying to decide. The small pieces only give you a vague glimpse as to what and where to go next. It takes strategy, it takes time and it reveals my patience. Am I willing to search for the next step? I mean, there are nearly 1000 pieces in front of me, but am I willing to keep trying? It’s difficult at times because I find pieces that look like the one; however, as I try to put them together they do not fully interlock. Frustrated, overwhelmed and stripped of pride, I often give up temporarily.  However, determined never to be conquered, I revisit the puzzle having repositioned myself with a fresh perspective.  As time elapse, I find a part that fits, and one by one the pieces start to come together. Eventually what’s in front of me coincides with the beauty on the box.

Like my life, there are many gifts and talents, but I keep asking myself, where do they fit? Where does this piece go? God, how do I, when do I, where do I go next? Often He will give us the colorful box to reference back to, the Word, to remind us that there is hope. Yes, soon you will see the end result, but you must seek through the small broken pieces to discover the beauty. As Cubism artwork shows us—objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form. This colorful art does not tell a story from one viewpoint, but depicts it from a multitude. In essence, your pieces of frustration, hurt, uncertainty or conflict will one day interlock and the broken story will unfold beauty; you will be complete. Your journey will not only be relatable and inspiring to one person, but several people will look at your puzzle “life” to see the best in their own situation and be INSPIRED.

Have you ever found yourself asking, where do I fit in the grand scheme of things? If so, don’t be discouraged! The pieces will come together, just keep dreaming, believing and putting the hard work in.

Real Life, Life Lessons

You’ve met someone who has all the qualities you’re looking for. Physically they check out. Personality checks out. Spiritual life seemingly checks out, everything’s good to go. Over time, though, issues start to pop up. Their actions do not line up to what they’re saying. Quickly, you learn that he or she is a COUNTERFEIT, someone who is only a distraction to get you off of your path!! They are a replica of what you’ve always dreamed of, but not really the one.

I was growing closer to God and then I suddenly an imitation of the real thing, a distraction, came along.  Through this experience I learned many valuable lessons.

From this experience I learned several lessons.

Lesson # 1

One of the things that stuck out to me was his unwillingness to meet my uncle and friends. In my mind I didn’t think of it as being a major issue, but God brought it back up and why it was so important. God will not give you anything that needs to be kept a secret. Why can’t you share your love? I found that whenever we hide things, shame, fear, doubt may be present.

Lesson #2

It’s super important to have friends or family involved to meet the person you are considering sharing your heart with. You can’t be blinded by what you see.

Lesson #3

Don’t be “thirsty!” Too eager to get something, desperate, crave attention, wanting someone or something very badly.

God has a love story written out for you. Stay focused!

Hey guys! I am so excited to present my latest venture, YouTube. I will be over at my new location sharing Real Life, Life Lessons. I am elated about this project and pray that you would join me. My desire is to impact those who are facing difficult situations in life and need encouragement and support. I have taken the Lakia Gordon blog format (Live to Inspire) and incorporated it into the YouTube way. My real life experiences, along with others, will be shared, dissected and the lessons learned will be shared. How are you able to cope with disappointment? What does faith really mean? How can I keep hope alive when the situation seems hopeLESS?

A story I can appreciate is Matthew 14: 22-33, when Peter stepped OUT of the boat and WALKED on water. Right now, stepping on water would be equivalent to obedience. The Lord told him to come and he went; Peter stepped out on FAITH and obedience. Often, the Lord will require you to believe and trust in ONLY Him. He does this by requiring you to go through a process. He will tell you to leave when you want to stay; give it back when you want to keep it; or close your mouth when you want to speak. In our natural minds we just want what we want, but God is telling us, “Wait, I’m doing something! Wait, be still because I’m building something within you.” Through this PROCESS, though, He may take us the long route when we want to go the shortest (Exodus). Whichever length of time the route takes, you better believe that it’s imperative you go through it.Question: When you go to the store, do you choose a brand you know will never fail you? A brand that may SEEM similar to the other brands, but beats them hands down? To make that decision, you MUST have tried and relied on it previously. In order for us to know the very essence of His name, El Shaddai, He must take us through something to PROVE who He is. To compel you to call on Him EVERY TIME, He may take you through the WILDERNESS (a place that is uninterrupted by human activity; just you and the LORD), in order to show you who He is. In my case, He is showing me who El Shaddai is: the Almighty One who will provide SUPERNATURALLY when all else fails. Even when I try the doors slam in my face because He wants me, and everyone else who I encounter, to know that it was HIM AND HIM ALONE who blessed me. So when I try to figure it out and do things my way, it never works.

So yesterday, I wrote on Facebook “I’m giving up!” and meant it. Everyone thought my page was hacked, but it wasn’t. I was utterly disgusted and defeated; I have een in this wilderness for 8 LONG, HARD months (but I’m at the tail end.)

In the end, though, take from me two things:

1. It’s ok to have a “moment,” but what happens AFTER that moment is crucial. Do you stay down? Defeated? Or do you shake it off and keep moving?

2. CONTINUE to believe and have faith even when you can’t see anything.

We SAY we trust God and believe who He is, but when all else fails, DO WE REALLY TRUST HIM?
