Good day everyone!
I am excited to see another fourth of July! I hope you guys and gals are having a great day and enjoying the good food, I know I am!
Anywho, I had the opportunity to read a fourth of July article recently and thought I would share with you. the article was written by author, Charles T. Robinson Jr., take a look.
On this day many will invest time with family. Some will grill and play games. Others will watch fireworks and enjoy it’s tapestry
of colors. Few however will celebrate the true meaning of July 4th. For our country, July 4th marks the day of independence from Britain which set forth the founding of this country. How privileged are we to have a day to celebrate freedom that so many people around the world dream of. We are celebrating a time when a group of people decided to cut ties with oppression and bondage, and strive for liberation and freedom.
We all have a spiritual Independence Day. A day when we decided to cut ties with the bondages of worldly living and the oppression of the flesh. We became liberated from sin and free in the spirit. Men fought and shed blood for freedom in this nation. They died to unite this country. Similar to this there is a fight in the spirit. Blood was shed on a cross and a man died for our freedom. Some of you may remember the day you accepted Christ. What if we got into the habit of celebrating that day as our true Independence Day. Physical bondage is grotesque, but spiritual bondage is eternal damnation. Don’t forget the day that means the most. The day you decided to stand up and fight. The day you determined you had enough of bondage and oppression. The day YOU signed your spiritual Declaration of Independence. Enjoy your Independence Day. God bless.
“For freedom Christ has set us free, stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”
Charles T. Robinson Jr.
