Creating (lasting) Relationships with Authentic People
Networking is essential for business; however, WHO you network with is very important. I had the belief that the more people I knew and became connected with, the better off my business would be. That may be true to an extent, but it isn’t always about that. Friendships, relationships, partnerships, they are very impactful. Just think. When you enter into a marriage, you should have some similarities with that person ethically and morally, otherwise, you probably would not be in that relationship. When it boils down to it, the company you keep plays a significant role in the success of your business/life. You may believe, “I will follow the rules of IRS and will report all earned income,” while your partner believes in illegally cutting corners and hiding money from the IRS. Ultimately, you and your brand are jeopardized by the company you kept.
When networking or creating new friendships/partnerships, make sure you are applying the CRAP Method. Create (lasting) Relationships with Authentic People who have your best interest.
